KMF Performance

KMF Performance values inclusion, affordability, and access in all aspects of our services. We emphasize an open and engaging environment that empowers people to learn from both our team of expert coaches and their fellow teammates. BELIEF, COURAGE, and INDIVIDUALITY make up the foundation of our coaching practice, and we incorporate these into the guidance and development of all our athletes.

Meet the Coaches

Ben Drezek

Coming to the world of multi- sport during high school in 1991, Ben first began coaching in college as a volunteer assistant high school track coach. Here he quickly found the joy of helping others succeed in reaching their goals.

Many years later, Ben resumed coaching by leading group workouts with the University of North Texas Triathlon Club. As he committed more time to coaching, he earned his USA Triathlon Level I, US Masters Swim Level II Coaching Certifications, as well as Retul and FIST bike fitting certifications.

By the time he graduated in 2011, Ben was coaching the UNT Triathlon Club, as well as local triathletes and runners. Sensing a demand for a local team, Denton’s first triathlon racing club was created.

Since then, KMF Performance athletes have been succeeding in events of all distances and many levels of competition, and as a testament to his extensive coaching expertise, Ben was named the 2014 USA Olympic Committee National Coach of the Year for Triathlon.

Elizabeth Hinley

Liz graduated with a B.A. in Music and a M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas. She currently holds certifications with USA Triathlon Level II, US Masters Swimming Level II, and Yoga Alliance 200+HR teacher certification. She began coaching in 2014, collaborating with youth, junior, and master level athletes. During her time as a coach for a masters and a competitive travel swim team, she was identified as a technique-savvy educator due to her attention to detail and adaptive teaching style.

After earning her certification specializing in draft-legal events, Liz collaborated with collegiate club, NCAA triathlon, and elite level teams and coaching staff to further her education and experience. In the fall of 2018, Liz was appointed Chairman for the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club Committee.

In the summer of 2018, she was identified as a talent transfer with the USOPC Next Olympic Hopeful program for the sport of rowing. She currently is training full-time at the OKC High Performance Center in the hopes of competing in international and Olympic events.

Daniel Duryea

Daniel’s pathway into sports is not your typical story. He was completely uninterested in anything sports related growing up. After struggling with addiction and a volunteer experience at an Adventure Race in 2007, Daniel decided it was time for change. Registering and finishing his first race proved to be a life altering event.

Daniel quickly changed majors to Kinesiology and became President of UNT’s Cycling Club. In 2009, he got his first experience coaching as a volunteer Adventure Race Coach. Immersed in endurance sport, Daniel found a satisfaction that only furthered his development. After school, he moved to Colorado where he became a full-time Retul Certified Bike Fitter. Helping athletes solve pain while cycling led to his eventual move back to Texas to pursue Physical Therapy.

Daniel is currently a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, Running Mechanics Professional Level 2, and attending a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University. His coaching philosophy is simplicity and collaboration with the athlete to understand the process.
